Objectives

The proposed workshop will deal with several modern electronic structure methods to study properties of materials in a wide range of dimensions from atoms to bulk. For the first three days of the program, there will be low density of formal lectures and topics will include Density functional theory, Plane wave techniques, LMTO and its recent developments, Finite systems and Recursion method. The hands-on computer sessions will be an essential part of this training workshop.The last two days will have a higher density of talks reviewing recent developments and applications.
