Lending:
   
Enrolled members shall be entitled to borrow five books and two bound journals at a time. Books are issued for a period of 30 days and bound journals for 10 days. A late fee of Rs.1.00 per day will be charged for books/documents not returned within the due date.
       
    Institutional collaboration/Membership:
       
Inter-Library collaboration is on with Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Salt Lake. For borrowing books from ISI Library, one should carry a letter from the Librarian. To use the SINP Library, the SNBNCBS and SINP Joint Library User’s Card (available in the SNB Library ) should be produced. Those who intend to use British Council Library (BCL) should collect the Institutional Membership Card (available in the SNB Library ).
         
   
Consortium Membership:
     
The Library is a member of INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences and Technology ), New Delhi and FORSA ( Forum for Resource Sharing in Astronomy), (To view FORSA catalogue, click on FORSA Libraries Serials Catalogue and FORSA Libraries Books Catalogue)
     
   
    Reservation:
Members can reserve any book in his / her name to get precedence over renewal by the current holder of a book.
   
       
    Ref. Service:
Reference Membership is extended to visitors for short-term period.
     
       
    Reading room:
Besides the common reading facility, an air-conditioned special reading room for serious reading is provided. It is furnished with the latest, based on the principle of ergonomics.
   
       
    Reprography:
Photocopying of documents in the Library is provided free of charge to the Members, on a written requisition. The non-members shall be charged at the approved rate as prevalent and also as per the approved procedure.
   
         
      Newspaper Reading:
Nine newspapers and allied publications are provided in the newspaper section.
         
 
 
 
Other Services:
a) Lamination - Free of charge for official purpose, and charged for other purposes
 
 
 
 
b) Spiral Binding Services - Free of charge for official purpose and charged on other purposes
 
c) Colour Printing & Scanning: One HP Laserjet colour printer & HP scanner installed in the library the use of Members. Free of charge for official purpose and charged on other purposes
