Lending
Enrolled members shall be entitled to borrow six books and two bound journals at a time. Books are issued for a period of 30 days and bound journals for 10 days. A late fine of Rs. 1.00 per day is charged for books/documents not returned within days.
Reference Service
Library has a separate Reference Collection enriched with standard reference books like Encyclopaedia, Dictionary, Atlas, Year Books and many more. Library personnel are ready to satisfy the users’ queries.
Resource Sharing
Library shares its resources with all important academic/research institutions of West Bengal. Library is also a member of FORSA and INDEST consortia. Library has institutional membership of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Indian Association of Cultivation of Science (IACS) and British Council Library (BCL).
Reservation & Book Alert
Members can reserve any book in his/her name to get precedence over renewal of the current holder of a book. Alert for the forthcoming return dates are sent through emails to the borrowers.
Reprography
Library has three photocopy machines, five laser printers and one Colour Laser Printer. All the library users can get reprography service as and when required.
Other services
SNB Library is well equipped with 20 computers with internet facility. Lamination, spiral binding services are also available in the library.
