Bipul Rakshit

         Enjoyed my college life, both B.Sc. & M.Sc. in MS University of Baroda (1999-2004). Got my PhD degree, from Barkatullah University (2004-2008). Worked for a year (2007), in ENEA, Italy, in material science division. Start my research in SN Bose with the study of effect of bi-axial strain in Graphene sheet. Mainly involved in the structural and phonon dynamics of oxides and some perovskites structured material. Like to enjoy in Abcos, with my group members.

Ashis Nandy

         I have done my graduation from Ramakrishna Mission Vidya Mandira, Bellur Math. And M.Sc(Physics) from I.I.T. Kanpur. I am working on novel magnetism and orbital physics in p-band oxides, magnetic/electronic properties of Transition metal oxides and Theoretical modelling.

Abhinav Kumar

         hi i am abhinav. I did my B.Sc. from Benares Hindu University. I have joined the group in 2006 as a PBIR student. My area of interest is different kinds of ordering like charge ordering or orbital ordering in Transition metal oxides. I like music, roaming with friends, playing outdoor games and many more. i also love debates on social, political and economical issues

Kapil Gupta
Senior Research Fellow

         I have done my B.Sc. in 2005, from S. D. College, Hathras (Agra University) and M.Sc. in Physics in 2007 from St. John's College Agra (Agra University). I have qualified JEST 2007, with a percentile of 97.76 and holded all india rank 91. In the same year I joined the this group in S. N. Bose Centre as a Junior research Fellow. I was awarded CSIR-SRF in 2010. I am currently involved in studies on Structrual, electronic and magnetic properties of thin films of transition metal oxides. I am also working on Ferroelectricity in thin films and bulk as well. I am learning Violin and I just love music, whether classical or rock, indian or western. Like to read non-fiction, read and write hindi poetry.

Hirak Kumar Chandra

         I got B.Sc Degree in 2005 in Visva-Bharati, santiniketan, also completed my post graduation from the same university in 2007 and qualified NET in the same year. After completing my post graduation I have joined as a project fellow under the supervision of Dr. Priya Mahadevan at S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences and currently studying the properties of Dilute Magnetic Semiconductor systems. I am very much interested in making friendship. I think a man makes himself happy only through friends.

Saikat Debnath
Junior Research Fellow

         I have completed my B.Sc in Physics in the year of 2007 from R.K Mission Vidya Mandira (University of Calcutta) and M.Sc from IIT Bombay in 2009. I have been awarded CSIR-JRF in 2009. I have qualified JEST 2009 with AIR 41 and GATE-2009 with 86 percentile. Currently my research involves studies of structural, electronic, thermal and magnetic properties of bulk as well as nano materials. Besides my academia I am interested in photography and music.

Ruma Das

         I have completed my B.Sc. from A. B. N. Seal College, Coochbehar (University of North Bengal) in the year 2007 and M. Sc. from IIT Guwahati in the year 2009. I have qualified CSIR-NET and GATE in the year 2009. I am working on Nano materials. Basically my topic is properties of quantum dot molecules.

Basudeb Mandal

         Hi, I had passed my B.Sc in Physics (Hons) from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur (Calcutta University) in the year 2009 and my M.Sc in Physics from IIT Madras in the year 2011. I had been awarded CSIR-JRF (December-2010) with all India rank 84 and GATE-2011 with all India rank 99. In the year 2011 I joint this group. My current area of work is on Transition Metal Oxides. Apart from this I like to listen music, to see movies and to play Table tennis.

Shishir Kumar Pandey

         Hello ! Myself is Shishir. I have obtained my B.Sc. degree from Ewing Christian College ( University Of Allahabad ) in year 2009 and M.Sc. degree from Indian School Of Mines, Dhanbad in year 2011. I am enjoying being a part of this group as a project fellow and trying to understand the phenomena of finite temperature magnetism for different materials. Apart from academic, I love singing and write hindi poetry.
