Theme and aim: Soft, active and biological matters, which can be inherently driven out of equilibrium, possess rich dynamical structures concerning their steady-state and transient properties. They are not just useful pedagogically, but also have applications in a variety of settings, related to science and technology. During this discussion meeting, we intend to introduce young researchers to these fast evolving areas, that are at the forefront of research today.
